CEO found not guilty of serious sexual assault
The defendant, a respected businessman, was charged with an offence of sexual assault alleged to have occurred at a fetish club whilst under the influence of drugs.
Due to the backlog of cases in the Crown Court the trial was not listed to be heard until the Autumn of 2027. Appreciating the tactical necessity for securing an early resolution, Emma, assisted by her instructing solicitor, conducted a careful review of the CCTV evidence and limited papers served and drafted detailed representations exposing the evidential deficits in the case. As a result, the prosecution offered no evidence within weeks of the first appearance at the Crown Court avoiding the potential publicity and reputational damage of a trial.
Emma Goodall KC was instructed by Harvey Fox of Reeds Solicitors who acted after charge.
