Christopher Hough rejoins Doughty Street Chambers as an Associate
Doughty Street Chambers is delighted to welcome back Christopher Hough, who returns as an Associate in the Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury team.
Chris acts for injured patients in their claims against treating doctors. The great majority of his present caseload is for damages arising out of catastrophic injures caused by obstetric negligence or spinal surgery. But he has years of representing patients in all types of claim: delayed diagnosis of cancer, stroke, shoulder dystocia and the full range of clinical negligence.
He has particular expertise in the assessment of damages arising from brain injury, spinal injury and amputation.
He has won trials on informed consent and fundamental dishonesty and been to the Court of Appeal on the proper assessment of damages arising from wrongful birth.
He is a regular contributor to AVMA and APIL publications and was a lead speaker on his recent case of Cullen at the 2025 APIL conference.
