Crown offers no evidence in Class A drug supply allegation
Natalie Lucas’s client has been acquitted of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply following proceedings before the Woolwich Crown Court after the prosecution offered no evidence on the allegation.
The prosecution case relied heavily upon a small number of screenshots recovered from mobile telephones together with the packaging of cocaine found on arrest.
The defence challenged the limited and fragmentary nature of the communications relied upon by the prosecution, together with the absence of any direct evidence of cocaine supply.
Shortly before trial, the Crown offered no evidence and a not guilty verdict was formally entered.
Natalie is instructed by Russell Nicholson at Lawrence & Co CDS LLP.
