Divisional Court win for Kneecap rapper

The Divisional Court has dismissed the prosecution appeal against the decision of the Chief Magistrate, striking out the prosecution of Kneecap rapper, Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh.  The Divisional Court has confirmed that the prosecution was brought out of time, given that the permission of the Attorney General was required at the time the written charge was issued.

Jude Bunting KC acted for Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh, along with Brenda Campbell KC, Blinne Ní Ghralaigh KC, and Rosalind Comyn, instructed by Darragh Mackin and Gareth Peirce.
