Doughty Street Chambers launches interactive virtual tour

Doughty Street Chambers are today launching our new interactive accessibility tool which will help visitors to remotely familiarise themselves with the layout and facilities prior to arriving on site https://www.doughtystreet.co.uk/accessibility.

The virtual tour, which can be accessed on most Wi-Fi or 4G connected smartphones, tablets and desktops, was commissioned from Ocean 3D Ltd as part of DSC’s drive to ensure we adapt our way of working to assist people with disabilities, including neurodiverse conditions.

Mark Henderson, Chair of the DSC Disability Working Group, says: “For too long, the Bar, in common with the legal system more widely, adopted a policy of avoidance towards disabled people’s access rights. I would like to thank staff for driving this valuable contribution to our accessibility work, and for ensuring that we give comprehensive and honest information about what chambers currently can and cannot offer. This virtual tour reveals the real progress they have already made in making our buildings more accessible, and I know that they are committed to work tirelessly to ensure that we meet and where possible exceed our reasonable adjustment duties under the Equality Act.”

Terrance Munduru, DSC Head of Facilities, comments: “I am proud that Doughty Street Chambers has taken this step towards making our building more inclusive for all. We are committed to going even further to ensure that everyone that visits or works in our property has their needs catered for.”
