Doughty Street Chambers now certified as a Disability Confident Employer

We are proud to announce our Disability Employer (Level 2) accreditation this week following prolonged work by a committed group of staff and barristers. By asking how much we can achieve for disabled people under each criterion, not how little we can get away with to self-certify, we have embraced the Disability Confident framework to leverage real change.

We are also treating Disability Confident Employer as a journey towards achieving Disability Confident Leader status based on external accreditation. To learn more about the Disability Confident scheme, and how you can get involved, please click here.

In a guest blog for the Bar Council, DSC barrister and Chair of DSC’s internal Disability Committee, Mark Henderson, further discusses what organisations can do to address key obstacles for disabled barristers, and how to tackle disability discrimination in general at the Bar and in courts.
