DSC Associate Judge Fergal Gaynor shortlisted as candidate for election as a judge of the European Court of Human Rights

We are delighted to announce that Associate Judge Fergal Gaynor has been selected as a candidate for election as a judge of the European Court of Human Rights.

On 1 February 2023 the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe invited Ireland to submit a list of three candidates for election as a judge of the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Ireland.

Judge Fergal Gaynor stands as one of the three distinguished nominees, alongside Ms. Justice Úna Nĺ Raifeartaigh and Professor Colm Ó Cinnéide.
