Farrhat Arshad KC and Jessie Smith’s client acquitted of murder, manslaughter and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life

Following a ten week trial at the Central Criminal Court, Farrhat Arshad KC and Jessie Smith’s client was acquitted of all charges. He was alleged to have shot a stranger in the heart in a street in West London as revenge for an earlier attack on his brother. The case involved close analysis and challenge of CCTV, telephone, prison call and ballistic evidence. Farrhat and Jessie’s instructing solicitor, Rhona Friedman of Commons CIC extensively pursued the disclosure of unused material and gathered Defence witness evidence which critically undermined the Prosecution case.
