Gemma Daly  - Healthcare and Serious Medical Treatment

Gemma acts for all parties in Court of Protection proceedings in the full gamut of health and welfare matters. She receives regular instructions from the Official Solicitor and other litigation friends,  family members, local authorities and NHS bodies. She has experience acting for parties in cases involving complex medical issues such as disorders of consciousness, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, tracheostomy, and acquired brain injuries. Gemma has represented parties in contested vaccination cases (Royal Borough of Greenwich v IOSK (by his litigation friend, the Official Solicitor) & NK & MOK [2021] EWCOP 65), covert medication and DNAR disputes.

Gemma has spoken at seminars and delivered training on serious medical treatment cases in the Court of Protection. She has co-authored various CoP-specialist publications, including the Dictionary of the Court of Protection and Legal Action magazine Court of Protection updates.
