Judge refuses extradition to United States

On 24 February 2023, DJ Branston handed down judgement in USA v Davies and refused the extradition request. Extradition was sought in relation to a conspiracy to steal personal information of US citizens and fraudulent tax reporting.  Extradition was refused given the very serious health conditions of Mr Davies and the impact extradition would have had on his young son, for whom he is sole carer. On 8 March 2023, the CPS confirmed that there would be no appeal.
