Kirsty Brimelow KC gave evidence to the London Assembly’s Police and Crime Committee’s examination of the Metropolitan Police’s approach to public order policy. She criticised the lowering of the threshold for “serious disruption” to a definition of “more than minor” (ss. 2A and 2B of the Public Order Act 1986 Subsequent to this report, the Court of Appeal upheld that the Regulations introducing ss. 2A and 2B are unlawful.
