Louise Willocx secures acquittal for harassment causing fear of violence, and exposure

Louise’s client was a vulnerable disabled woman with serious mental health issues.

Her client faced one count for harassment causing fear of violence, as she was alleged to have threatened to kill or shoot her upstairs neighbour on multiple occasions. She faced another count for exposure as other neighbours alleged that she had lifted her skirt and groped her naked genitalia. The defendant had in fact lifted her skirt showing her amputated stump in response to bullying about her disability.

Following robust legal representations, the Crown offered no evidence at trial and the defendant was acquitted on all charges. The Judge also refused the Crown’s application for a restraining order against the neighbour and a binding over order. Two related public order offences were not remitted to the Magistrates Court either.

Louise Willocx was instructed by Wajid Manzoor from ITN Solicitors.
