Matthew Lee joins Doughty Street Chambers

Doughty Street Chambers is delighted to welcome Matthew Lee, who joins our Housing team from Lamb Building.

Matthew specialises in civil and public law with expertise in the Equality Act, housing, and property law. Matthew has been involved in leading cases on the Public Sector Equality Duty and often defends possession proceedings. He has a particular interest in housing condition claims, including disrepair, environmental protection, personal injury, and housing condition-based discrimination claims. Matthew has a strong belief in access to justice and has a specialist knowledge of legal aid. He is regularly instructed in matters related to public funding, costs and has been appointed to the Legal Aid Agency's Review Panel.
