Retired Bomb disposal expert and Falkland’s veteran unanimously acquitted

The 65 year old man was prosecuted for serious historic sexual offences against two female children dating back 50 years. The case took 6 years to get to trial and involved hundreds of hours of preparation including consideration of naval records, medical and hospital records, counselling and therapy notes, work related disciplinary records, regulatory body records, extensive court of protection proceedings documents, and numerous lever arch files of documents from adult social services. Preparation of the defence case involved careful consideration of voluminous phone downloads and extrapolating WhatsApp and SMS messages to support the defence that the allegations were false and arose out of a family dispute over inheritance.
