The 'Robin Hood' Guernsey policemen convicted of stealing food in a ‘show trial’ in 1942

The BBC news website this weekend gave substantial coverage to a scandalous historic case of our Patrick O’Connor Q.C. Ten ‘Robin Hood’ Guernsey policemen were convicted of stealing food in a ‘show trial’ in 1942 set up by the Occupying German Gestapo and Wehrmacht. The object was to discredit them as symbols of resistance. They all suffered terribly in German concentration camps and one was killed. This ‘trial’ was conducted by prominent local collaborating dignitaries. This injustice has yet to be resolved.
