Sarah Vine successfully appeals convictions for breach of protective order

In a case involving the correct construction of the terms of a non-molestation order, Sarah Vine succeeded in persuading the Court of Appeal to quash two convictions.

In their judgment, the Court observed that the case highlighted the necessity for care to be taken both by the Crown and by judges trying these sensitive cases. Sarah also successfully resisted the Crown’s application for a retrial.
