Sean Summerfield secures not guilty verdict in sophisticated courier fraud

Sean’s client was charged with conspiracy to defraud elderly and vulnerable people of their savings.

The fraudsters, posing as police officers and bank investigators, persuaded the victims to hand over valuable items to couriers, believing they were assisting the authorities.

Sean’s client was unanimously acquitted following a two-week trial at St Albans Crown Court.  One co-defendant pleaded guilty before the close of the Crown’s case; another was convicted by the jury.

Sean Summerfield was instructed by Dilara Demir of Morgan Has Solicitors.
