Shamima Begum wins appeal

Today, the Court of Appeal allowed Ms Begum’s appeal, and held that the only way she can have a fair and effective appeal of the decision to deprive her of her British citizenship is if she is granted leave to enter the UK to pursue that appeal. Adam Straw acted as special advocate representing Ms Begum’s interests, led by Angus McCullogh QC, and supported by Greg Thomas of the Special Advocates Support Office.
