Shop assistant who defended himself with a knife acquitted of murder and manslaughter

Benjamin Newton KC, leading Laura O’Brien and instructed by Eliza Bell (both of Hodge Jones and Allen), represented PA, who was acquitted of murder and manslaughter before Mr Justice Jay and a jury at Wood Green Crown Court. PA was working in a shop in North London in July 2025 when he inflicted a fatal stab wound to the chest of a dissatisfied customer who had threatened and then assaulted him.
