Lawyers for the South African government began their case to the United Nations in the Hague yesterday, which alleges that Israel’s military offensive in Gaza since 7 October 2022 violates the Genocide Convention of 1948.
The International Court of Justice at the Hague heard opening speeches from the team of lawyers presenting South Africa’s case, which also alleges that Israel has genocidal intent against Palestinians in Gaza nurtured at the highest level of state.
