Woman acquitted of attempting to pervert the course of justice following murder in Kent

Jessie Smith, led by Icah Peart KC of Garden Court Chambers, secures a unanimous acquittal following a two-week trial at Maidstone Crown Court. Jessie was instructed by Tricia O’Sullivan of Sperrin Law.  The jury returned their verdict in a short 35 minutes. 

DD was charged with perverting the course of justice following the murder of SP in Kent. DD was alleged to have assisted her boyfriend - the primary murder suspect - to evade arrest. DD was a survivor of domestic violence. She had been shot by her boyfriend in the lead up to the murder, and endured months of verbal and psychological abuse.
