Amal Clooney Addresses the Global Conference to Defend Media Freedom

London: On Wednesday, July 10th, Amal Clooney, a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers, delivered remarks to attendees at the Global Conference to Defend Media Freedom. A full copy of her remarks can be viewed here.

In April, Ms. Clooney was appointed by Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt as Special Envoy on Media Freedom. She is also the Deputy Chair of a High Level Panel of Legal Experts, which will examine legal and policy initiatives that states can adopt to improve media freedom. The Panel will convene for the first time at the Global Conference to Defend Media Freedom in London.
