Amal Clooney Addresses United Nations on Defending Media Freedom

New York: On Wednesday, September 25th, Amal Clooney, a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers, delivered remarks at an event hosted by the UK at the United Nations General Assembly, on the topic of protecting media freedom around the world. A full copy of her remarks can be viewed here.

In April, Ms. Clooney was appointed as UK Special Envoy on Media Freedom. She is also the Deputy Chair of a High Level Panel of Legal Experts, which is examining legal and policy initiatives that states can adopt to improve media freedom.
