Amal Clooney Authors Report on the Use of Targeted Sanctions to Protect Journalists 

London: On February 13, 2020, Amal Clooney, a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers presented a report on the use of targeted sanctions to protect journalists. The report was published by the UK’s High Level Panel of Legal Experts on Media Freedom, of which Ms. Clooney is Deputy Chair, together with the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute. The event, which was hosted by Chatham House, featured a panel discussion on the current state of media freedom abuses around the world and the importance of sanctions as a tool to enforce human rights compliance.
