Benjamin Newton secures acquittal in Conspiracy to Murder at the Central Criminal Court.

On 18th May 2020, a group of young men carried out a planned and coordinated attack, firing live ammunition, at a fast food shop in Rayners Lane. In the aftermath of the attack attempts were made to conceal the evidence, including the burning of a stolen car that had been used as one of two getaway vehicles.

Following a 7-week trial Saeed Ahmed, a 20 year old of good character from West London, was unanimously acquitted of conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent, and conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Benjamin was sole counsel for Mr Ahmed, instructed by Michael Brenyah of Saunders Solicitors.
