Beth Grossman named in The Lawyer Hot 100 for 2023

Beth Grossman has today been named in The Lawyer magazine’s Hot 100 for 2023. The list recognises “an incredibly diverse mix of legal professionals”: individuals are selected based on excellence and the contemporary relevance of their work.

The Lawyer cites Beth’s work on behalf of Guardian News and Media resisting reporting restrictions in the Barclay v Barclay contempt of court trial in July 2022, for the journalist and feminist campaigner Julie Bindel, who secured an apology from Nottingham City Council for unlawfully cancelling her talk on violence against women, and representing gay rights activist Simon Blake, drag queen Crystal and actress and broadcaster Nicola Thorp in a libel claim and counterclaim against the actor turned political activist Laurence Fox.

The Hot 100 caps a year of increasing professional recognition for Beth in 2022, who is ranked as 'Up and Coming' in Chambers and Partners, describing Beth as “thorough, attentive and excellent at what she does". Beth is also ranked as a 'Rising Star' in Legal 500 and says she is “an exceptionally bright barrister…unfazed by a challenge”.
