Maryam Mir secures not guilty verdicts in drugs supply trial at Guildford Crown Court

Maryam Mir represented a company director facing two charges of supplying Class A drugs.

The prosecution case was based on the accused’s DNA evidence being found on cigarette paper wrapped around the drugs, an officer sighting an alleged drug exchange between the accused and a known drug user, and pictures taken by a neighbour of alleged drug dealing said to be of the accused.

Maryam cast doubts on the reliability of the DNA evidence, challenged the officer’s evidence about what he had seen and identified weaknesses in the identification evidence.

The jury returned two verdicts of Not Guilty in under 3 hours of deliberation.

Maryam was instructed by Saunders Solicitors.
