Maya Sikand KC and Claire Overman act for the family of Steve Dymond in Jeremy Kyle Show inquest

Maya Sikand KC and Claire Overman, instructed by Anna Thwaites and Joanna Bennett of Bindmans LLP, act for the bereaved family of Steve Dymond in an inquest due to commence on Tuesday 3rd September 2024. Mr Dymond participated in a recording of the Jeremy Kyle Show, during which it was revealed that he failed a lie detector test he took to demonstrate that he had not been unfaithful to his partner.  Mr Dymond died of an overdose several days after recording, and the episode was never aired. Shortly afterwards, ITV cancelled the show entirely.

The inquest, being conducted by HM Area Coroner for Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton, will run until 10th September 2024 and is due to receive evidence from Jeremy Kyle as well as from those involved in vetting Mr Dymond’s application to the show.
