Nottingham Inquiry Launch
The statutory public inquiry concerning the attacks in Nottingham on 13 June 2023 launches today as its terms of reference are laid in Parliament.
On that day, Valdo Calocane killed Barnaby Webber (known as Barney), Grace O’Malley Kumar and Ian Coates. He went on to seriously injure others before being stopped by police.
The Inquiry will consider the contacts of agencies with Valdo Calocane prior to 13 June; the events of 13 June; steps taken in the investigation by the police and by the CPS; data breaches within public agencies following the attacks; and, the communications of those agencies with the media, surviving victims, the bereaved families and others. It will consider lessons to be learned for all agencies.
Tim Moloney KC and Angela Patrick (instructed by Hudgell Solicitors) represent the families of Barney, Grace and Ian.
