Rabah Kherbane’s client found Not Guilty in gunpoint robbery of £70,000 diamond-encrusted watch from celebrity and former world boxing champion Amir Khan

After a two-week trial, Rabah Kherbane’s client was unanimously acquitted of a gunpoint conspiracy to rob. IM was accused of organising the armed robbery of former boxing world champion and Olympic medallist Amir Khan on 18 April 2022. The robbery was caught on CCTV, outside the Sahara Grill in Leyton, where a firearm was pointed to Amir Khan’s face and a custom-made Franck Muller watch valued between £70,000- £100,000 was taken.

During the trial, the prosecution relied on CCTV and phone evidence. Amir Khan was also called to give live evidence from the witness box at Snaresbrook Crown Court. The prosecution alleged IM was a ‘spotter’ in the gunpoint robbery. IM gave evidence over the course of three days.

The jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty in under two hours of deliberations.

The case was prosecuted by King’s Counsel and Junior.

Rabah Kherbane was instructed by Ben Darabi at Carson Kaye Solicitors.
