The View from the Bench: in conversation with Supreme Court Justice, Lady Black of Derwent

On her first visit to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Lady Black spoke to a packed house about her work as a judge, reflecting on her career in the law.

The event took place on Wednesday the 30th of October 2019 and was hosted by the Department of Law and Department of Anthropology.

Lady Black was in conversation with Zimran Samuel, a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers and a Visiting Fellow at LSE, and the event was chaired by Conor Gearty, Professor of Human Rights Law in the Department of Law at LSE.
