Zimran Samuel shortlisted for Pro Bono Barrister of the Year Awards

Doughty Street Chambers is delighted to announce Zimran Samuel has been shortlisted for the International Bar Association’s International Pro Bono Barrister of the Year 2020 and Advocates Junior Pro Bono Barrister of the Year 2020.

Zimran Samuel is an experienced human rights practitioner with a wide-ranging practice based around children law, mental health law and international law.

Each year, the IBA Pro Bono Committee honour a lawyer who has shown an outstanding commitment to pro bono work as part of their legal career. Pro bono work is a cornerstone of the legal profession, and the IBA Pro Bono Committee wants to help build a culture of pro bono work by lawyers, law firms and organisations of lawyers as a vehicle for access to justice where that right is not fully supported by legal aid. Since 1997 the Advocate Bar Pro Bono Awards have been given every year in recognition of outstanding commitment to pro bono work by barristers or chambers. All shortlisted candidates can be found here.
