A number of Doughty Street barristers involved in Module 8 of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, focussing on children and young people

Last week, public hearings in the UK Covid-19 Inquiry continued with a preliminary hearing in Module 8, which will consider the impact of the pandemic upon children and young people.

Substantive hearings in Module 8 are due to commence in September 2025.

Kate Beattie made oral submissions on behalf of the Disabled People’s Organisations. She is led by Danny Friedman KC of Matrix Chambers, and both are instructed by Shamik Dutta, Charlotte Haworth Hird and Caleb Simpson of Bhatt Murphy Solicitors.

Adam Wagner made oral submissions on behalf of Clinically Vulnerable Families. He leads Lameesa Iqbal. They are instructed by Kim Harrison of Slater and Gordon Lawyers.

Sam Jacobs made oral submissions on behalf of the Trades Union Congress. He leads Ruby Peacock, and both are instructed by Gerard Stilliard and Harry Thompson of Thompsons Solicitors.
